Review: Make up revolution amazing volume mascara

Hii Beauty Bugs!! sorry for the missing post last week my computer was playing up and then it was Christmas which i hope that everyone reading this had a wonderful Christmas , but i am back now with a review of make up revolution's amazing volume mascara.

So this is the mascara normally it has the name on the front but it's rubbed off as i have had it a couple of months. Make up revolution is a superdrug only brand so can only be purchased at their store or online , although they do have a website of their own that you can buy from. This mascara is £2.00 which is an amazing price because most drugstore mascaras are around £7-£10.

This is what the mascara claims to do:  "Amazing Volume mascara magnifies your lashes to give amazing volume effect without any clumping! Revolutionary volume brush allows for full coats separating the lashes root to tip for maximum volume "

The first thing is that the mascara itself is actually quite good , it does give quite a bit of volume it's not amazing but it is really good. The thing i really dislike about this is the packaging not how it looks but the inside packaging , it's hard to explain but when you take the brush out of the tube the gap were the brush comes out of is way to big.

Every time you pull it out you get a whole load of mascara on the wand that isn't needed so then the lashes get clumpy and stick together and it's just a nightmare so i have to wipe all the excess off first. But if the packaging was smaller and wouldn't let as much product out then this mascara would actually be amazing. At first i thought i had got a faulty one but i ordered two at the same time and they both did the same thing.

So there you have it i don't think i have missed anything but if i have I'll add it in , I'll also link superdrug and make up revolution websites in case you want to have a look at them.

See you in my next post

Christmas Bomb Cosmetics Haul

Hii Beauty Bugs!!  I've been so excited to write this post as it's another bomb cosmetics haul but this time as you can see from the title ( Duhh) it's some of theiChristmas treats , If you don't know who bomb cosmetics are then your definitely missing out they are in my opinion the best bath and body company ever.
I went and spent £28 on all this and it's money well spent ,the price varies for each bath bomb and creamers etc ranging from £2.09 - £2.99. I'll link their site at the end of this post for if you want to check the collection out and you definitely should their amazing.

*First off can we just take a moment to admire how cute the packaging is instead of just having  a plain colour they've put so much detail into even the littlest of things.

These two are blasters which you just pop into warm water , I love that sound they make when they start fizzing. The one on the left is called Let It Snow and is made from pure peppermint & amyris oils and it does smell so nice , kind of like a candy cane but its not overpowering though it's enough that you can smell it but no so it gives you a headache. And the cute little man on the right is Chilly Willy and i actually used this the other night it has a light cinnamon scent which when your sat in the bath just smells lovely. They both cost £2.29

On the left ad you can see from the shape is called Oh Xmas Tree and has the scent of grapefruit and cinnamon so it's got the christmas-y spicy but fresh scent and I love the glitter on both of these. And then we have Ginger which as you'll have probably guessed smells like a gingerbread ( it has ginger , spicy clove and cardamom ) and very christmas appropriate.  Again these are £2.29

How cute is the one on the left and is called Too Cool For Yule now this is a cocoa swirls which is made from natural butters which is actually quite bigger than what it looks on the picture , because you can use it up to 4 times you put it in the bath and allow some of it to melt then take it out to use again and has a cinnamon and sandalwood scent. And the other is called Gingerbread Trees and is a bath blaster and it smells of cinnamon and ginger so it just smells like the epitome of christmas its amazing. The cocoa swirl is £2.99 and the blaster is £2.29

On the left is Happy Beak and how cute are both of these I love them , they are mallows so like the coca swirl but smaller and you don't have to take it out and they leave your skin so soft afterwards , anyway back to happy beak he has myrrh and mandarin essential oils and a snowberry cupcake fragrance which I'm not sure what snowberry is but it smells great and has that balance of fresh and sweet. Then we have Ginger Love and he has a sweet gingerbread with pure black pepper and a sweet orange scent and it does smell so nice and they are both £2.24.

On the left we have Snowdrift that has the scent of warming frankincense and ginger oils and its a soft fragrance but it does just remind your of snow if you see it in person , because it's not glitter that it's covered in it's just like snow. Then we have the Little Gingerbread man which is made from a blend of ginger and myrrh essential oils and the cute little ginger man on the top just make the whole thing. They both are creamers so you just pop them in your bath and let them melt and fizz away as they have cocoa butters in them so they infuse in the water and leave your skin feeling super soft and they are both £2.09.

And lastly we have Glitterballs and I'm not too sure how to explain what it smells like so the website says , Rich Christmas scents fragrance the air, carols fill the air whilst cocoa and Shea butter, pure ylang ylang and patchouli oils dance tenderly with your skin and soul. And the other is one of my favourites and is called Proof In The Pudding , and has the scent of cinnamon and sweet orange so i love the smell of this one and all the glitter on it  just screams me and again they are both £2.09

Now i hope you enjoyed this post I've tried a couple of these already and love them the so if you love bath bombs etc then definitely check the site out they just have so many amazing products like candles and soaps so there is pretty much something for everyone.

Affordable False Lashes

Hii beauty bugs!!!  So this is a pretty quick post i just wanted to share with you the false eyelashes that i am really loving at the minute , and ill probably be in love with them for a good while yet. So i don't wear lashes all the time but when i do these are amazing because you get a pack of 10 for wait for it..... £1.04 WHATTTT that's incredibly affordable. They are really lightweight too so you can barely tell that you have them on and are that balance of natural and dramatic.

You can find them HERE

* What they look like in the packet. Also you can reuse them if you put your mascara on first them the lashes and then peel the lash glue off before you put new glue on and then they last for a while. I used one pair like 5 times and they were still looking as new as when I'd put them on. Also having a proper case for them to keep dust off will make them last longer too , they don't come with glue though so you'll need that.

* What they look like on

So thank you for reading , i hope you like this and defiantly go and get you some of these because they are such a bargain i mean if you go into your beauty shops they can be £5/£6 just for one pair, So they are definitely worth it

See You in My Next Post

♥ Make up Academy Whipped Velvet Vs Make Up Revolution Velvet Lacquer ♥

Hi Beauty Bugs!! So today's post is a battle of the lip lacquers, with make up academy's whipped velvet lips ( which are to die for) and make up revolution's salvation velvet  lacquer. Both are a superdrug only brand and are both £3 each so they are super affordable.

*L-R Make up revolution in keep crying for you , what i believe and velvet vamp. Make up academy in spry, ritzy and chi chi.

**Before i get into it both of these are great products and i'm in no way saying that one is bad, it's just one brand doesn't work for me as well as the other.

These are the make up revolution lip lacquer's , now these are the one that don't really work for me and it's such a shame because the colours are really pretty and velvet vamp is a gorgeous fall/winter colour.  And keep crying for you is a really nice barbie pink shade.

So for me when i apply them it goes on fine then when they dry and they do dry really matte, and then when you rub your lips together even softly you can feel it all dry and it kind of feels flaky a little its hard to explain what i mean it doesn't look flaky but that's how it feels.  I just don't like lip products that are really matte that's just my personal preference. If you can wear matte products then do give these a try you will really love them. But for me and i'm sure there are more people like me they just drive me mad when its really matte.

These are make up academy's whipped velvet and for me these are really nice they dry matte but not totally matte like the one's from MUR its more like a creamy matte. Spry is my favorite out of these 3 as you can see it's a really pretty nude-brown shade. And it's more of a glossy look on the lips rather than a matte look,So if your like me and prefer creamy mattes then you will love these a lot more.

Like i said all of these are really great products it just depends on what you prefer. All of these you can find in a superdrug store and online which i will link down below, superdrug website doesn't have all of the colours that they have in store. Normally they do so i'll link the make up revolution site as well in case you want different colours.

♥ The Fall/Autumn Favorites Tag ♥

Hii Beauty Bugs. So Autumn/fall is here, and i thought it would be the perfect time to get back into writing posts. As I have been a bit slack lately ( Sorrryyyy) , I found this tag on Jaclyn Hills channel. So let's get into it.

Favorite Candle: The candle i have been really loving at the minute is called vanilla sugar and its from Matalan in the UK and it smells AMAZING plus it is only £3 and its quite a big jar for that price so its a total bargain.  It's just your basic vanilla sugar so you'll be able to get this no matter were you live in the world. I just love the sweet scents all year round.

Favorite Lip Colour: When the colder months start rolling around i love to break out this lip colour. It's a gorgeous wine red from make up academy and it's shade 1 and again total bargain at only £1. I'll put a picture down below.

Favorite Drink: I love hot chocolate in autumn/winter i tried the pumpkin spice latte but i didn't really like it so back to my trustee hot chocolate. my favorite is the signature hot chocolate from Starbucks. if you haven't tried it then seriously please do you will love it, I absolutely loved the salted caramel one when it came out the other year and it was only there for that one year here in the UK . I was pretty upset when i waled into Starbucks last year and it wasn't there anymore hehe.

Favorite Blush. Now this is a easy question because i legit were the same blushes all year round , so at the minute I've been really loving a terracotta colour blush. As i find it's a lot more flattering then pink.

Favorite Clothing Item: So i much prefer the cold winter days then summer. I hate being too warm and the winter fashion is so much nicer. So when it starts becoming cooler i reach for my boots tucked into skinny jeggins. I love it.

Favorite Fall/Autumn Movie: Like everybody it has to be Hocus Pocus and The Witches which is the film version of the book by Roald Dahl. I watched it for the first time this year and loved it so i'm waiting till it gets closer to Halloween to watch it again.

Favorite Fall/Autumn Tv Show: So strictly come dancing or dancing with the stars for the US and that always comes back on tv about this time so i love watching that.

Favorite thanksgiving Food: Now we don't have thanksgiving in the UK but i love turkey at christmas so if we did have thanksgiving it would be turkey.

Favorite Halloween Costume: Now I've not dressed up for Halloween for years but this year just for fun i'll be dressing up as a vampire from the vampire diaries complete with the under eye veins that happens when they smell or taste blood. if you've watched the show then you know what i mean. And i might do a post on it so stay tuned for that.

So there you have it i hope you liked this and i promise I wont leave it so long next time and leave me your fall/autumn favorites in the comments.

XOXO
Jade.

♥ Tanya Burr Cosmetics: Eye shadow Palettes ♥

Hii beauty bugs!! It's been so long since I last blogged ( I feel like I've started most of my blogs that way hehe). But it has been worth the wait because today's post is a good one
, so Tanya Burr has brought out a new addition to her make up collection ( which I love)
and they are eye shadow palettes , and at only £6 each they are a bargain there is 3 palettes named Galaxy , Fairytale and Hollywood and each has 4 shades which have the greatest names.
I literally have a favorite shade in every palette.

*First look at the palettes.

*Fairytale: , Alohomora ( for all you harry potter lovers) is a gorgeous shade. i love it.

Fairytale Swatches: how gorgeous is alohomora , it's a shimmer brown but not too shimmery. It's One of my favorite colors in the palette.

Velvet cushion: is a really great transition or crease colour.
Witches Cat : is a deep black great for deepening the outer v. Cream Tea : is a cream for a more subtle highlight colour.

                   Galaxy palette:

Galaxy Swatches:

Snowflake is that perfect highlight shade. Moonlight is my favorite though because i haven't got a colour like this in my collection. As you can see from the swatch it's a perfect silver shimmer. i'm so in love with this colour. Stormy Sky: is a soft brown again perfect for blending into the crease and Starry Night: is softer than the black in the previous palette and has shimmer in it.

                Hollywood Palette:

Hollywood Swatches:

This is my favorite of the 3 palettes as it's colour I always tend to drift towards when doing my make up is the golds and coppers. so this palette is perfect for me.
Nude Delight:   is a more yellow-y toned than any of the previous highlight shades.
Gold Coin: is a really deep gold almost copper shade. its such a pretty colour.
Enchantment: is my ultimate favorite shade in the whole 3 palettes. The glitters is a little more chunkier than any of the other shimmer shades , like you can feel the glitters when you swatch it. And it's a beautiful copper with a hint of gold. I seriously am in love with this colour. and last but not least is the shade Bookworm: which is a true matte copper shade again so pretty in the outer v.

So there you have it  , there's some beautiful colors in this collection and they are very velvet-y feeling to , when you swatch them its like dipping your finger in butter. They retail for £6 each and you get get them in superdrug stores and online and also on feelunique. I Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did making it. And i will see you in my next post. which wont be as long next time.

xoxo

♥ Beauty This Or That Tag: ♥

Hello Beauty Bugs I am back , I took a little bit of time off but now I am back with a bang so they say hehe :) and I've got loads of ideas for blog posts. So I'm back with an easy one and it's the beauty this or that tag. Enjoy Lovlies x

1. Would you rather go out with messy hair & nice make up or nice make up & messey hair?
Hmmmm my hair is thick and course and 90% of the time I just throw it up in a bun or ponytail so I would choose nice make up and messey hair.

2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Proberly shave your eyebrows ( plus I could always draw them on ).

3. Would you rather be forced to shop at MAC or only Sephora for the rest of your life?
Well seeing as I live in the UK so we'll change it too boots. But to be fairly honest I would shop at MAC forever they have some great product. i.e amber lights shadow is fab.

4. Would you rather wear the lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?
These are both pretty unflattering looks but i'd have to choose the lipgloss/liner.

5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
This is a tricky one when I was in high school I did used to have obvious foundation lines because I just never knew to blend it in. ( Embarrassing or what haha  ). But I think I would pick overdone blush.

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
Definitely MC hammer pants. You will never see me in biker shorts ever.

7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
Tricky. Probably Weird tan lines.

8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or a bad hair colour?
Bad haircut because it will always grow back :)

9. Would you rather have youtube or instagram taken away forever?
Youtube. I could not live with out instagram follow me it's @missjadehornby

10. Would you rather give up using make up brushes or mascara?
Mascara easily. Put some eyeliner in your tight line and no one will know your not wearing mascara.

11. Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?
Nail polish. I couldn't live without my makeup.

12. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Winter clothes in summer. I'd rather be too warm then too cold.

13. Would you rather have one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
One lip colour as i pretty much wear the same colour for a while anyway before changing.

14. Would you rather chop all of your hair off or never be able to cut it again?
Never be able to cut it again. I'd finally have long hair.

So there you have it it's so good to be back writing posts. I have a few posts coming up that i'll think you'll like. So Thank You so much for reading and I'll see you in my next post.

5:2 Diet Week 1. 1.5lbs Lost.

Hey My beauty bugs!! So i posted a blog post about me getting back to losing weight and working out etc. And I'll be totally honest i was just up and down up and down. But finally I'm getting back to it and going walking. I went this morning and I'll post a pic of the view further down in the post. And it's been working for me and i don't ever feel deprived.

So What I've been doing is the 5:2 well it's not really a diet it is a way of life. So if you've never heard of it you eat pretty normally within reason and are allowed a couple treats if you so wish again in moderation, for 5 days and then for 2 days of your choice you only consume between 500-600 calories which are called fast days.

Which sounds hard but trust me its not. Its very doable. Don't get me wrong they can be challenging but you can get through it hehe. I wont go too much into it because i bought the book which explains way more better than i could. I'll link that here. So the first week i just mainly concentrated on getting to grips with the fasting etc.. But today i went for a 70 minute walk. And it felt so good to go out walking because for so long i was doing the Leslie Sansone walk at home , and even though i love those i was just getting a little bored of it. So it was good to get outside and it is a woodland sort of place so it was good to pop my headphones in and go walking outside. Also i am going to do a fast day what i eat in that day so look out for that.

* It was a little cooler today but when it's sunny it looks so pretty.

So thank you to anyone who reads this post and i will see you next time.

♥ What's In My May Glossybox ♥

Hi Beauty Bugs!! So this is so late but better late than never and it is a what's in my June glossy box. There's some good stuff in this month's. And I love the card that tells you about the product and how much it is to buy.
All prices and were to buy will be at the end.

First off can we just see how cute they pack them. (Confession: i already opened it and just did it similar to how it came , obviously the bow was much nicer when i first opened the box)

This Is the Zerreau towel off shampoo foam. And this actually does work is basically a foam that you put into your hair if you haven't got time to wash it and rub it throughout your hair then towel off the excess. So it's similar to dry shampoo , now it's not as good as dry shampoo but it does freshen your hair up so your able to go out and it leaves your hair soft were dry shampoo can feel a little chalky on your hair.

This is the Estre Belle Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel. And I haven't tried this yet but it does smell really nice. ( If You don't mind the smell of aloe) and looks as if it will be really soothing.
The Description says: Prepping Your skin for summer has never been easier. For an instant rescue when skin needs a little TLC , this cooling gel hydrates by delivering moisture deep below the surface , in turn reviving your complexion. What's More , Aloe Vera makes for the perfect post sun soother.

This is the Sass Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate. Which is a concentrate for the intimate area to help prevent ingrown hairs that you use after shaving/waxing. And you use massage two pumps into the skin. Description says: The Perfect Treat for your skin post-shave or wax. Sass's concentrate soothes the skin and reduces hair regrowth , while exfoliating ingredients including salicylic acid and fruit enzymes delicately exfoliate to ensure ingrown hair are a thing of the past.
I Keep forgetting to use this but i will and let you know how i find it.

So now on to the best bits. The Make Up! This is by Collection and is in the colour tulip 2 which is from the field day range. And as you can see from the swatch this colour is gorgeous. I love this shade and is so up my street. Collection lipsticks are quite creamy and are not drying on the lips. Also this is only £2.99,such a bargain.

And Lastly this is the MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes Duel Ended Eye Wand. And I love the colour for a pop of colour under the lower lash line or as a base under a blue eyeshadow. It glides on easily and feel quite smooth and is blendable.

  • Prices: Towel off Shampoo is £3.99 for 70Ml Or £7.95 for 180ML http://festival-shower-survival-kit.co.uk/shop/
  • Moisturising Gel:£15.93 http://www.etre-belle.co/product_info.php?info=p102_aloe-vera-ultra-moisturizing-gel.html
  • SASS Intimate : £12 http://www.boots.com/en/SASS-Intimate-Perfect-Skin-Concentrate-100ml_1678672/
  • Collection Lipstick : £2.99 http://www.superdrug.com/search?text=field+day
  • MeMeME Eye Wand:£6.95 http://www.mememecosmetics.com/enchanted-eyes

♥ Bomb Cosmetics Haul ♥

I love these so much they smell amazing , i just happened to walk into the store that sold these , it's not an actual bomb cosmetic store just a shop that sold the products , anyway ever since then I've been in love they have a wide range of bath bombs and creamers. And like I said they smell amazing. ( Like I just died and went to bath bomb heaven) All Prices will be at the end and they can all be bought from the website by clicking here. Also I'll highlight the names of the product in case you want to refer to a specific product

First off i'm rubbish at describing scents. The One on the left is called Chocolate Kisses (£2.29) and the is a slight sweet vanilla chocolaty scent it's not over powering. And the other one is called Passionfruit Dream (£2.09) and as the name suggests is smells fruity but again not overpowering ( Now I don't know what passion fruit smells like)  but it does smell slightly fruity. Both of these are Bath Blasters.

So the one on the left is called Baby Shower (£2.29) and is also a bath blaster and actually does smell of baby powder. But it just looks so cute with the bow on top. The one on the right is Pinky & Perky (£3.49) and it is a bath brulee.

How cute do these look though. On the left is called Summer Sun (£2.24) and the right one ( which is just so adorable I love it ) is called Miss FancyPants.(£2.24) And these are both bath mallows , I love all the names of these products.

These are Bath Creamers and I love how glittery they are so your bath will be nice and sparkly. The left one is called Dizzy Spell (£2.09) and the left one is Starry Eyed. (£2.09) and is super pretty ).

These are Whoopie Blasters the one on the left is called Raspberry Pav-Lover (£2.99) and the right is Bright Lights Big City (£2.99) , I Love the glittery bits on this one their so pretty.

And lastly we have soaps the one on the left is a soap slice that you just wash your body with and it's called Caiperina (£2.49)  and the website says it's made from " An exotic cocktail of Brazilian lime and grapefruit essential oils " and trust me it smells amazing and the one on the right is a soap cake and I can't find this one on the website but the closest one i found is called Raspberry Supreme.(£2.49).

Everything apart from the brulee and soaps you can just throw it into the bath water and watch it fizz , the soap is pretty self explanatory and the brulee you just put it into the water untill some melts from it then you take it out and put it back into it's packet and you can use it up to 6 times.

So there you have it I love everyone of these , bomb cosmetics do an amazing range of bath products if you have a look on their website you will want everything. Let me know if you get anything find me on twitter and instagram with @missjadehornby.
Thank you for reading and I will see you in my next post. Which is a glossybox haul.
